Crookhaven Heads Lighthouse Walk
The 1kilometre trail begins from the end of Prince Edwards Avenue, at the carp park. Enjoy the magnificent views all the way to Seven Mile Beach and over to Greenwell point. The original Crookhaven Heads Lighthouse was built in 1882 as part of the Shoalhaven Signal Station. Constructed from timber, it stood on the beach approximately 200 metres west of the current site. In 1904, a new brick lighthouse was commissioned on the southern side of the river mouth, and the earlier wooden structure was soon demolished.
Boat Ramp
The Crookhaven Heads Boat Ramp is one of the largest and most important boating facilities in the region, providing excellent access to the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven Rivers as well as the open waters of the Tasman Sea. Its strategic location makes it a popular launch point for recreational fishers, commercial operators, and boating enthusiasts alike.
Jerrinja Aboriginal - Tree Scarving Cultural Sculptures
Jerrinja Aboriginal tree scarving cultural sculptures are inspired by traditional bark removal practices used to make canoes and tools, leaving scars that marked cultural knowledge and connection to Country. These scars reflect respect for the land and the deep relationship between the Jerrinja people and their environment.
Today, Jerrinja artists use carving to share stories, culture, and identity in contemporary sculptural forms. The works honour ancestors, celebrate resilience, and help keep Jerrinja culture strong for future generations.
